Housed in a former 16th century mill in the commune of La Cadière d’Azur, in the very heart of the Bandol appellation, the Moulin de la Roque cellar is one of the leading producers of this appellation, with an output of 10,000 hectolitres accounting for 17% of all Bandol wine production. Founded in 1950 by the winegrowers of la Cadière d’Azur, St-Cyr-sur-Mer and Sanary-sur-mer, the Moulin de La Roque cellar was initially designed for the oak-barrel maturing of Bandol red wines. In 1964, through the efforts of the winegrowers and following numerous alterations, the Moulin de La Roque became a wine production cellar for Bandol wines. In 2001, in the name of quality and development, the Moulin de La Roque cellar joined Maîtres Vignerons de la Presqu’île de St Tropez and the Saint-Roch-les-Vignes winery, producers of AOC Cotes de Provence, to form the group Terres de Mer. Backed by its expertise and the latest equipment, the Moulin de La Roque cellar also preserves the methods that have forged the reputation that Bandol wine enjoys today. It is through a constant endeavour to enhance the quality excellence of its wines that Moulin de la Roque was granted ISO 9001 version 2000 certification in 2004. Thus, each year, Moulin de La Roque has to be able to prove its capacity to supply its customers, on a regular basis, with a product that meets their expectations, complies with regulatory requirements and satisfies its clientele with even greater precision. The HACCP approach, implemented since 1997, guarantees the traceability of its products and consumer food safety. In 2007, Moulin de la Roque also decided to commit itself in a sustainable development approach.
